Which to buy next as a weekend toy? My next car will be driven maybe 3-4K miles a yr.
Brand new 5.0 mt82 or c6 corvette gs/zo6 manual trans. Really the only cars I’m considering (must be a coupe and manual transmission)

Goal is to have a mid 11 second car that will be mostly used on the street with the occasional trip to the drag strip..1-2x yr. I have a f150 5.0 and a Toyota clunker for the daily grind.

around 40k budget for this car.

Thoughts/experiences/opinions?
I’ve had 3 mustangs, most recently a ‘12 5.0 mt82 mid 11sec NA car.

Amen to that. I’ll drive a manual trans until I can’t.
I think the corvette is more of a grown up car. A lot of kids drive bagged/bunch of sticker s550 around here and I don’t want to be a part of that shit show.

H,C,E LS7 are stupid fun on the street. I had a '10 GS that made mid 800 to the tire with a T trim that was a lot of fun but if I had to do it again I'd probably go LS7

Buddies C6 Z06 being torn down because of rod failure. I wouldn’t have guessed that, figured the valve guide would have let go. To be fair it’s got 101k miles and probably more launches than most nasa shuttles.

As for experience, and opinions. I’ve driven his Z06, and a few others. I think they’re fun cars for sure. They’re gnarly as hell and for a N/A build they’re nasty. Probably one of the best sounding cammed cars I’ve ever heard came from a C6 Z06. As stated above, to fart around and do some spirited driving 3k-4k miles I’d say Z06. The new GT’s are nice, however are mid to high 40’s with good options that aren’t cloth interior, and budget brakes. Only new mustang I’d buy like that would be a cloth interior 10 speed auto with a blower on it for a fun strip car.
