Gonna depend on track but tires are one of the biggest variables so cup2>4s plus 400-500ish lbs and the 350R has more downforce than the base 500That would be VERY disappointing if true.

Right, and regardless of the very small differences in times is still impressive to think about and witness. But too many negative critics out there on how the advertised time could never be replicated.Many at 9.8 completely stock to the tire.
The 9.65 is what the car is capable of MAX effort, hero run. BONE STOCK with warranty. It is absolutely insane to have a 9 sec capable street car with warranty.
This video is just click bait and kind of stupid. He's comparing C8 "potential" to a stock GT500. I guess the new GT500 is just not going to be mod-able.
I've actually thought about that a lot, I have a feeling the 2020 GT500 will be very easy to tune and mod, the C8 I think will be a pain in the ass to tune especially if it's anything like the C7 ZR1. GM might have really locked that ECU down.This video is just click bait and kind of stupid. He's comparing C8 "potential" to a stock GT500. I guess the new GT500 is just not going to be mod-able.
Yes that is what things appear to be as of now, but with its price point it will have limitations to an extent. What could that be obviously no one knows. All we have is what GM has stated so far about the car. Until cars hit the streets in early 2020, it then will be confirmed it stepped up and shit on everyone else with its cost vs performance.Until they make it illegal to tune cars no one will stop, but then everyone will just do it anyway illegally.
The new Vette will be tuned soon enough.
But we are not talking about what a modded car can do are we.
Dollar for dollar, car for car.
The vette just stepped up and shit right on the face of every other domestic(and the world) for performance bang.

The c8 is going to have zero effect on the ****ing fox market. Way different buyers.Not just gt500 buyers, pretty much the whole car market is gonna take a leg down. People scrambling to dump their 20k foxes and 30k cobras while the value is high to grab a c8 for a cheap superior upgrade.
There will be a flood of DOPE garage queens.
I bet it's closer to 500lbsThe 900-1000 lb weight penalty the GT500 pays is going to be the great differentiator.... not to mention all the other obvious stuff (engine layout, shared DCT trans, lower CG, etc etc).

That's only valid if you're paying cash.That $30,000 price difference is going to buy some serious mods for thr Corvette however.
Well be seeing 1000whp cars with in 30 days of launch.

Or if you mod cars. I bet 90% of both cars stay stock
Exactly! What will happen past 60mph? What are the rest of the specs? Typically N/A cars do not pull as much once past 100mph compared to FI cars. We will see, and also they will never have their bottom line cars exceed the mid to top tier cars its common sense.How? The only thing we know about it so far is GM's claim of a sub-3s 0-60. There's a lot more to performance than just 0-60. I do expect the Z cars to be in the face of some heavy hitters. The base/Z51, not so much. Those might be more inline with the Cayman S. My predictions:
C8/Z51 = Cayman S
GS = Cayman GT4
Z06 >= GT3/GT3 RS
ZR1 >= GT2 RS/Pista/SF9 Tributo
GS < 570S/GT
Z06 < 600LT
ZR1 < 720S

Given inflation the 03 cobra costs 47k in today's moneyi wonder what the GT500 would cost if they properly removed 'Shelby' from the name? maybe it would be more reasonably priced. just sayin...
