CAI minus tune

I have a 2006 gt with flowmaster exhaust. Is it safe to run a cold air intake without a tune? I've heard s197s are touchy

Depends on the cai. But cai's with no tune needed don't net much, if anything, compared to tune required cai's

Like Kllr3v said anything that doesn't require a tune really isn't worth it and Ive seen some 05-09 GT's that don't even respond well to CAI's that don't require a tune. I have the Airaid Race CAI on mine along with the Diablo Trinity T-1000 tuner its a little pricey to buy that tuner just for a CAI but I have quite a few mods were its helped a lot. You can get a nice package deal usually were they will sell a CAI along w/ a tuner for a reasonable price

The reason these cars need a tune for a cai is because they have larger maf housings. The "no tune" cai's have stock-diameter maf housings, so they're not worth having.

your better off throwing in a K&N air filter if you're not going to run a tune with a CAI.
