cam bolts tq. spec ?

Ok .i need tq. Stock cams and new.stock bolts....thanks

i got my exhast cam at 114.5° and need.tq. it down to move on.
Are these.strech bolts.?

If they are stock 03 cobra cam bolts then torque them to 30 foot pounds and then turn an additional 90 deg. And yes they are stretch bolts.
If you are installing 96-98 cams and cam bolts in it then it is 82-92 foot pounds.

chain tensioners are 18 foot pounds
cam saddles are 71-106 INCH pounds

I got these off the net awhile back but may help you?

4.6L Torque Specs
Camshafts caps to head 71-106 in/lbs
Camshaft sprocket bolts 82-92 ft/lbs
Cylinder head bolts SOHC (two valve GT and Bullitt)
--Step 1 28-31ft/lbs
--Step 2 Tighten additional 90 degrees
--Step 3 Loosen one full turn
--Step 4 28-31ft/lbs
--Step 5 Tighten additional 90 degrees
--Step 6 Tighten additional 90 degrees
Cylinder head bolts DOHC (four valve Cobra, and Mach One)
--Step 1 28-31ft/lbs
--Step 2 Tighten additional 90 degrees
--Step 3 Tighten additional 90 degrees
Drive belt idler and tensioner bolts 15-22 ft/lbs
Engine compartment brace bolts 15-22 ft/lbs

Engine mount stud to crossmember nuts 95-126 ft/lbs
Exhaust manifold to cylinder head bolts 14-16 ft/lbs
Flywheel moutning bolts 59-64 ft/lbs
Ignition coil brackets to front cover 12-22 ft/lbs
Intake and side plates assembly to cylinder head
--Step 1 15-22 ft/lbs
--Step 2 Tighten additional 90 degrees
Intake manifold to cylinder head bolts
SOHC (two valve GT and bullitt) 15-22 ft/lbs
DOHC (four valve Cobra and Mach One)
Upper plenum to intake 71-106 in/lbs
Intake to lower side plates 71-106 in/lbs
--Step 1 15 ft/lbs

so my cam boltsare.tq.to 30 ft lbs. Then 90°


In filing the.keyed.sprockets...and .tq.ed.the.correct.way there is.no chance.of the gears turning on the cams making the timing off?

I cut down small pieces of feeler gauge to stuff in there to take up the slack. Then tighten down and recheck to ensure it didnt move.

Bolting on oilpan tomorrow. I was unaware that the oil pan bolts where strecth bolts
is thay correct? Whats the.tq.? Then is it 60°
