I drive my car to the track and change the camber at the track. I always jack up the side of the car when I loosen the bolts and set the camber. I always use a torque wrench and never go above 35ftlbs of torque. I am using maximum motorsports camber setup. Somehow the threads get mucked up on one of the bolts when I tighten it back down. It's happened twice now and it sucks cause I have to grind out the old bolt from the plate and have someone else weld in a new one. I've even gone to grade 8 nuts/bolts and it still happened.
Anyone else had this problem?
Would using red loctite work instead of having the bolt head welded to the plates.

First off the required tq spec for the nuts is actually 32 ftlbs, I don't think the extra 3 ftlbs is causing your issue though. Have you taken a look at the plate that the bolt passes through?

Are you talking about threding the plate and using red lock tight to hold it in place? If so I don't see that working because 1 the plate isn't thick enough to thread correctly and 2 eventualy the lock tight will give out when loosening the nuts.

Stop using a torque wrench. I had the same problem years ago, installed a new one, stopped using a torque wrench on them, and have never had a problem since. Most torque wrenches aren't accurate that low anyway, and all they really need is about 2.5 white knuckles with a regular wrench.
