spins the blower faster, more boost.

give you the option to run a bigger blower pulley to avoid slip, while still achieving the boost you want.

Much better option than adding a smaller blower pulley. Less belt problems too.

innovators west balancer = $400 new pulley from KB = $75 is it really worth it? how much boost will a 10% overdrive balancer yield?

Its a ratio, of how many times the blower pulley spins in ONE turn of the crank shaft.

Stock crank pulley- 6.5"
10% OD- 7.25"

So lets use a 3.1" blower pulley.

6.5/3.1 = 2.09
7.25/3.1 = 2.33

So to get 2.33 with the factory crank pulley you would need to run a 2.78 blower pulley:
6.5/2.78 = 2.33

To find out your max impeller speed, you would take that ratio multiply it by your blowers internal setup, then mutiply that by your max rpm on a shift:

Lets use a V1 Vortech internal setup: 3.45 And we will use 6000 RPM

((Crank pulley/Blower pulley)*internal gear)*RPM= Impeller speed

((7.25/3.1)*3.45)*6000= 48,411.29
((6.5/3.1)*3.45)*6000= 43,403.22

My car has an IW 10% OD pulley. Its nice, but I didn't buy it. With a KB, I'd say it's probably easier to just buy one of the RR high grip pullies to avoid belt slip. Much easier to install and much cheaper.
