Car did not pass smog test?

One thing that I've learned from a friend who use to work at a smog station... Run your car hard before you take it to get smogged! I mean open her up and let the engine warm up really good. Don't shut it off, leave it idling... Keeping the cats hot. Buddy did this with his BMW that was failing.

yes sct and diablo dissable the monitors.....they make them NOT AVAILABLE...the machine will still pass it if the technician doesnt fail it manually. as for the cats, a good set of cats will only drop about 500ppm of hc and at the most 2% co, if it failED with higher numbers than that its a combination of cats and the tune......some areas do a enhanced dyno smog in california those measure knox while on the other hand basic areas do not measure knox.....A CAR MIGHT FAIL A ENHANCED DYNO TEST AND PASS WITH FLYING COLORS ON A BASIC TWO SPEED IDLE TEST.............so in theory a pullied cobra on a loaded enhanced dyno test is more likely to fail high knox due to high ciylinder pressure....THAN a not pullied cobra .......................
