Since I've decided to add another pony to the stable, I have a vehicle I would like to get rid of but don't have the title to. The story goes like this; A little over 2 yrs ago I took in a 94 ford probe from my son's friend. Her dad ( she was adopted ) passed away and the title could not be found. She pretty much is the only "family survivor", as mother has passed and no other siblings. I was going to go the route of probate court, but had to wait as she was only 17 at the time. Well, probate wants a bunch of question answered that she nor I don't really know. I do have a copy of his death certificate, and a distant relative paid the funeral expenses, but wants nothing from her or the car. So, I have in my possession a 45,000 mile, pretty solid probe that I cant do anything with until I get a title. Can anyone help with info on what to do ? I was told she left town several months back, so cant really get ahold of her also.

look up your state laws on abandoned vehicles and see if you can obtain a title that way.
You can apply for bonded title in some states.
I could walk you through it in Texas, but I have no clue on Ohio. Start out at your DMV and go from there I guess. :shrug:
