Change sound coming from...

There is a change sound coming from my shifter. I had this sound in the SHO too but it didnt seem to effect anything. I'm almost positive there is not change down there. Is it some type of piece of rubber that wore away and now it's just metal vibrations? Thanks in advance.

'change' sound??? On the centering springs there are two lil rubber boots, could be those possibly torn and giving off a sound?

it's a very quite sound. You can only hear it if everything else in the car is off (heat, stereo etc.) I had the same problem in the SHO and it was a piece of rubber that had worn down to nothing. I'm wondering if it's the same thing in this car.

Pop out the boot and look. Takes about 2 seconds...
