Changing Emergency Brake Location. Help!

Hey Gang, I am installing my Bogart rear wheels (6 1/2" backspace) and after grinding the calipers I discovered the e brake cables are at too severe of an angle to push the wheel all the way on without it rubbing up against the wheel. Is there a way to change this angle to allow installation of the wheel?? Thanks, Jack
