what's worse in terms of rust - gravel or pavement???

i am moving on sept 1st. right now my snake sleeps on asphalt pavement. starting next month it will be on a gravel driveway. i think  there will be a significant increase in the overnight moisture that rises from the gravel driveway as opposed to the asphalt street.

any insight on this? i'll garage it for the winters but i'm just concerned about getting significant undercarriage/ chassis/ surface rust in the other months.

Well moisture on metal always equals oxidation/rust. Have you thought about undercoating the car? That should remedy any possibility of rust.

If you wash your car regularly you shouldn't have a problem. I had a '95 which was driven daily for several years and never had a problem. No undercoating. But, our chassis is painted on the bottom which helps a LOT.
