Coil pack gray connector?

What are these gray connectors that hook to the coil packs? Do they have a purpose or can they be left unplugged just wondering because I’m about to put my new plug wires and coil packs on the car

Supposed to help with interference from the electronics. I believe people have left them unhooked just make sure they can’t ground out but if they aren’t in the way of something I’d keep them
