I always hated doing cold engine start especially after winter storage. Not to mention it's a dry start. Your oil film is gone on brgs an surfaces after 2 weeks when sitting I always shut the fuel pump off with gas pedal override till I had oil pressure in spring for initial start or after the car sat.
At work I maintain a 454cid generator. When it starts it goes from 0 to 3500rpm. I always cringe an wait for parts to fly when I start it ! Generators always use block heater keeping it at operating temp of 185 degrees for start.
I don't drive my Cobra much. 60 percent of engine wear is below 160degrees as its warming up. Block heater would be a easy mod for starts. I can plug car in spring or after sitting extended periods in garage between rides.

100 degree temp hmm

On the 454 generator at work I use 1400watt or 1700watt depending on what I find they burn out. Engine temp gauge maintains 185 degrees. Even the radiator hoses are warm. I like the thought of full operating temp. An it's not like any of us would keep it plugged in more than start. The 100 degree doesn't seem like much although that is probably with air temp around 0 degrees.
