computer threw a code, any idea where from?

P0442 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected

What is a typical problem that can cause this? I always tighten the filler 3 clicks. thanks for the help in advance! brian

Can be a bad gas cap such as with a bad seal or a vacuum relief valve. Could be a hairline crack in the EVAP canister. I mean it can be multiple things... Btw what kinda car is it? Im also from the Rockford area.

sorry its a 99 cobra. I lied when i say three clicks lol but i ensure it stays sealed. I checked the caps seal and it looks ok. Im from rockford but i live in peoria now for college
