I got my supercharged 306 running and it was great, then I noticed that the temp maxed out and the coolant wasn't taking. I then replaced the replaced the thermostat with a 180 degree unit. I jacked the front end of the car up and added coolant in the reservoir, top cap, upper hose mount, and even into the thermostat housing. I ran it and there was a hissing from the thermostat and a ton of white smoke from the the front of the engine (may have been some spilled coolant burning off). I then shut down not knowing what this was. Should I have run it more? Are there any tips or tricks to get the coolant to take?
