Cracked Windshield!?!?!?!

I went out to the garage this morning to go to work and found a 3 inch crack in my windhield that was not there when I parked! Not sure what happened as there are no chips or obvious damage on the outside and it wasnt there when I parked.

The poll was a joke on the installer haha, I am going to wait for it to warm up and get it replaced.

Unless the crack is in your direct line of site, I would let it go for awhile.

I used to intall windshields, post a pic and I can most likely tell you what caused it...

drive through a construction zone where there is a cop posted. once u are through hit your brakes, and talk to the officer.

I've had friends do this, and the state doesn't really care and will write you a check for a new one.

wasnt it the radio antenna preinstalled into the glass? Ya know for those of us with shaved antennas already

Most insurance companies will cover up to 3 windshields without effecting your rate.

I had my truck a couple of weeks and some freakin wetback in a strawberry field threw a rock at my truck as I was driving by and busted mine.:fm:

just call your insurance and get it fixed.

If you had USAA, windshield repair is free. In tucson you kinda need it (especially with my kind of commute on I-10 daily) - I am happy I do coz i never sweat it.

GOod luck with it though, just get it replaced. you'll be happy you did

Make sure you ask for a Carlite... or you will get some generic glass... and if you don't request it... trust me you won't get it...

The crack is about 5 inches long now, still not in my view, I want to wait until everything is warmer/more flexible before I have it replaced and just crack again cause of winter lol
