those of us from PhillyStangs are getting a cruise together in Alex's memory. his good friend will be driving Alex's Cobra in the cruise. i will be getting in touch with his dad to see if maybe the family would like to be involved. please post up if can join us and i'll and you to the list of attendees. i'm still hammering out the details, so i'll update this thread when i know more, but it looks like the Sunday May 1st will be the date. i hope to see some of you there.

yeah yeah yeah i know Spring is a long ways away, and it's only been a week since the funeral. but i've been thinking about this alot over the last few days. i've made a lot of great friends through this club, and consider us all a part of a Mustang enthusiast family…

…we lost one of our own. Alex was as much a part of this forum as most frequent users on this site. and even though he wasn’t able to come out to a ton of meets, he still was an avid poster on this site, did some work tinting tail lights and such for a couple people, and other odds n ends that made him an all around nice kid to have here. so imo he was a part of the PhillyStangs family.

so, what better way to honor his memory than with a cruise. I’m going to wait until the holidays are over to contact his dad to inform him of this and try to see if he would entertain the idea of driving Alex’s Cobra. I was thinking of starting at the cemetery where Alex is buried to lay some flowers and pay respects before we venture out. Take a nice drive and end getting a bite to eat and have a drink. Maybe we could find a place and reserve a table for us.

i am open to suggestions for a route to take and eateries to have lunch, as well as dates. I was thinking sometime at the end of May. That should give us nice weather for a drive.

all suggestions are welcome. lets make this a great cruise to honor a fallen friend…

NOTES

- like with the other larger Cruises we've had, please print yourself a copy of the directions. with this many cars we WILL get separated from each other at SOME point and i'm sure more than once. i will do what i can to pull over and keep us all together.
- 2 way radios/walkie talkies. we brought some along on the last Pocono Cruise and the helped out a lot. it's much easier to use than having to fish for your phone then try yo find the # you need to call while your driving. i have 2 i can bring. bring em if you got em.
- EVERYONE IS RESPONSIBLE TO BRING THEIR OWN FOOD!
- folding lawn/camping chairs. cuz i doubt there will be enough picnic tab;es for everyone. i have 2, maybe 3, i can bring.
- gas. PLEASE make sure to top off your tank. there are a few stations along the route, but my guess is it will be impossible for 50+ cars to pull into a station, lol.
- PM me if you DO NOT HAVE MY CELL #!!
- group leaders for the enevitable seperations:
wld_wst
phillyphan56
TOOT
86mustanggirl

- ok i thought of something else. and i would hope this would go without having to say it, but i'll put it here anyways:
I WILL NOT, AND I MEAN ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT TOLERATE ANYONE DRIVING LIKE AN ASSHAT IN THE RINEDOLLER'S NEIGHBORHOOD. we are there to pay respects to their son, so PLEASE respect their home and community as well. we are there representing PhilllyStangs as a club and i want them to be proud that Alex was a part of a great Mustang community and not a bunch of derelicts. get it out of your system on the TurnPike and later in the cruise. there will be plenty of opportunities to blow the carbon out of our cars, believe me :)

Hmm. Sounds like a good reason to go for a cruise. I have in-laws in that general area, perhaps we could make a long weekend out of it. I'll keep an eye on this thread and talk to the wife about it when it gets a little closer.
