I've hit an already dead dog before. Couldn't avoid it either. The smell didn't leave the car for weeks. Thankfully I was in my first car and not the mach. Sucks though.

Hitting a dog is better than hitting a horse! Been there done that. In a Honda civic gf was driving at the time. Horse dead. Civic still going after 16 g's worth of plastic surgery.
