So what to do . . .

Drag Race season starts in a month and I need to select my wheel/tire combo. I’ve narrowed it down to two choices.

Option One (Lightweight)

Lightweight 17x8 Fittipaldi Force Wheels (19lbs each)
245/45ZR-17 Nitto NT-555 Fronts
275/40R-17 Nitto NT-555R Rears (Drag Radials)

Pros: Looks unique, saves weight (~35lbs unsprung)
Cons: Lose some cornering ability, more wheel hop?

Here's a photo of the Fittipaldi Force Wheel

Option Two (Rear Only)

The ever-popular AFS 17x10.5 03 Cobra Wheels (Heavy)
315/35R-17 Nitto NT-555R Rears (Drag Radials)

Pros: Big meats. Seems to be working for some others. Good cornering still.
Cons: Additional weight and stock look.

I've already ordered the MM IRS bushings and I'm contemplating the AR Wheel Hop Kit (Stage I)

Opinions appreciated . . .

If you are serious about drag racing I'd get a set of wheels to swap out for racing. The BFG's are very superior to Nittos but they will wear quickly if you use them on the street and race. MT is also coming out with 26x11.5x17 ET Streets. I called and they said they would be ready mid-March. You definately don't want to run these on the street.

Silver, I'm going to run Nittos. I've been happy with them in the past. I've cut 1.69 60's in my 96TA on them. They are a great all purpose tire and fit my needs.

Now back to the decision . . . =)

LOL decision made . . .

17x10.5 Replicas and 315/35R-17 Nitto DR's on the way! =)

Also ordered the AR Stage I Anti-Hop shocks to go with my MM IRS Bushings.

Now I just need those stinking IRS Button Head Bolts!!!
