I was at the local gas station fueling the Cobra for the week and ran into a classic Mustang owner. He was complementing my car and was checking it out when he saw my interior. My interior is in the middle of being converted from Saddle to Black, which I informed him and he proceeded to say that since I'm doing that I'm defacing and devaluing my car. I understand some of classic guys who are all about factory date coded parts and grease markings and such, but c'mon man. It's a modern Mustang and one of the most modified vehicles on the road!

There will always be that group of people that don't understand or care to understand why they do what they do to cars

I'm picking up parts as I find them from '94-'98's parting out. Might have a line a center console and dash from a wrecked '95 Cobra. Rear seat will just be deleted and the front buckets will be changed out in favor for some Corbeau A4's by year's end

The hell with him. They're meant to be modded, driven, and enjoyed.

Date codes, and matching numbers are for squares.

If you found the center piece of your steering wheel it wouldn't look bad at all the way it is.....but nothing beats an all black interior.

The guy you ran into is completely lame and doesn't understand what makes owning cars fun. His idea of that is to let it sit in the garage and get driven 5x a year.

I probably wouldn't have started switching stuff until I had it all personally, but I'm just OCD like that. Definitely nothing wrong with doing it as you go though.

As for the old timer, ignore him.

Well, this guy would crucify me because there is NOTHING stock in my car except the front fenders, the doors and the rear quarter panels. Yes, I believe these cars are made to be modded to one's taste. God bless the collectors! Not at that stage yet. :burnout:

I would if done it once too but I hate holding on to parts and letting them sit, plus I was selling off the saddle stuff to offset what I spent on the black stuff. The airbags I'm just going to dye once the dash is in place.

Thanks for the offer man but I'm just going to order new carpet when it comes time

So this is the biggest thing I have gone back and forth with in regards to this topic.. I just swapped in an IRS but I have decided to keep the SRA instead of recouping small funds back in the account. Some of the small stuff I'm not concerned with as they arn't car specific but something like a complete rear end I'd like to keep it just in case I ever sell the car and it's desired by the new owner. When I get ready for the terminator motor and trans swap I plan on keeping the original motor and trans as well. Any others have these same thoughts?

I like my saddle interior! What pieces do you have?? I take them off your hands if they're nice!

Oh and to the grouchy old man. Guys like him just hold cars captive. That's the difference between "collectors" and "enthusiasts" The car is for fun and hotrodding! They pat themselves on the back for having the car the has been the LEAST enjoyed.. If that's not ass backwards I don't know what is. These people and their shows on tv annoy the crap out of me. The difference between SEMA and Barret Jackson lmfao!

I dont have the original engine and trans or rear end for my Cobra anymore. I"ll never sell the car, so who cares.

I like saddle... It's getting rare it seems.. Lol. The 94-96ish the split door panels/rear panels looked better, but its not as bad as the porno red fox interior..

As for the old guy, dismiss it. I always tell people, when you pay for it, I'll do what you want
