I own a 96 Cobra. I recently purchased a Demolet CAI (system #4). I thought the down-pipe (with filter) were to be installed inside the fenderwell, but it will not fit due to an obstructing smog-pump (I think that's what it is). I've read that I can delete the down-pipe altogether, and attach the filter horizontally, but that would reduce hp. No doubt some of you have encountered the same problem, and I'd like to know what solutions you've discovered. Should I (can I) relocate the pump, or remove it altogether (keeping it for smog tests), and if yes, how would I do this? Thank you.

Removing the downpipe and installing the filter horizontally will not reduce hp...really.
I have one...formerly called Densecharger. I did exactly that and didn't use the turn down piece. As I recall (it was 2 years ago) I had to pry a piece off of that elbow piece in order to fit it over the tube going thru the engine bay wall to hold it on.
