DETAILS! - MACA 20th Reunion
Hey Folks! Sincerely apologize for the delay in getting you more information on this event. Jan and I are moving back to Maryland (Eastern Shore) next week and this process has kinda dominated my life for the last couple of months! Great time for a MACA GTG because I need a break!Check out MACA's Facebook page for more discussion/info. Weather was looking iffy there for a bit but now looks like a great day for this event ! Here we go:
- Event is this Sunday, April 23, 2023
- Meet and Greet from 9:00am to 12 noon at the abandoned Chili's Restaurant, 16401 Heritage Blvd, Bowie, MD 20716. No agenda, will just be great to see everybody!
- At 12:00 noon (give or take), we will go on an approximately 70 minute cruise. Mostly heading north and west. Cruise route posted below.
- At 1:30pm (give or take!), we will arrive at destination. We have a reservation for 50 at The Green Turtle Sports Bar & Grill, 8872 McGaw Rd Ste C, Columbia, MD 21045. This is directly next to the Apple Ford car dealership.
Okay, now on to the cruise. As always, Safety First!
-We've never really been a "pull out of the lot burnout group". Have had a couple of bad instances that taught us valuable lessons!
-Keep your fog lights on during the cruise. Makes it easier to try and keep everyone together.
-Have tried to utilize as many right turns as possible. Left turns can really break up the pack. But we may have situations where we get some separation. Will include some "rallying points" to regroup if need be. If we lose anyone, (Hope not!), just meet us at the Green Turtle.
Cruise:
- Exit "abandoned" Chili's by Taking a right onto Route 301 South
- Take first right (200 yards) on Route 197, Collington RD
- Take right on Route 50 East towards Annapolis. (Possible rallying point on Route 50)
- Exit onto I-97 north towards Baltimore
- Exit onto Route 32 west towards Columbia
- Exit onto Route 29 south towards Silver Spring
- Exit onto Route 216 west. (we will have 3 traffic circles to navigate once we get onto 216).
- Take Left onto Browns Bridge Road. (Should not be much traffic for this turn)
- Take Right on Route 650, New Hampshire Ave. (Separation possibility)
- Take Right on Route 97, Georgia Avenue
- Exit onto I-70 East toward Baltimore (Possible rallying point on I-70)
- Exit onto Route 29 South towards Columbia
- Using 2nd exit at cloverleaf, Exit onto Route 175 east/south, Little Patuxent Pkwy.
- Exit onto Snowden River Pkwy south. (Use first exit ramp onto Snowden River Pkwy.)
- Take first right at McGraw Avenue (at Apple Ford)
- Take 2nd right into Green Turtle parking lot. Best parking may be on left side of the restaurant.
