I just received a speedcal for my '01 Cobra and took it for install yesterday to an instrument specialist. He had already been over my car previously and and had tried similar units made by VDO, but to no avail because of signal incompatibilities or lack of adjustment range. So after thinking I had the solution with the speedcal, I got a call of him yesterday afternoon telling me the speedcal is putting out the wrong signal also for the speedometer. In his words the speedcal was sending out a square wave signal, when the speedometer need a sine wave signal input, hence it was not working.
Can anyone shed some light here, is it possible the unit I got was for an earlier model?
