Difference in suspension between a 99 and 02 GT?

I used to own a 99 GT and from what I remember, it handled pretty well. The suspension was fairly tight and it never felt sloppy.

My girlfriend has an 02 GT and it seems to feel completely different. The suspension feels softer and the car doesn't seem to track as well as my 99 did.

It can still go around corners pretty good, but it just doesn't give you the feel that the 99 had.

Did Ford make some kind of changes to the GT's suspension on the 02's? Is it somehow different than the 99's?

I think you guys are right.

I've been blinded by driving the Cobra for so long that almost every car feels "soft" by comparison.

I recently drove a friends Mercedes CLK 430 and it felt sloppy too.

Besides the Cobra, the only car I've driven recently that feels "right" in the handling department is my friend's Subaru STI. I felt right at home in it.

I'm ruined for life.
