Sorry for a non-L post ... I have three company Astro/Safari vans and all these vans I have owned have one nasty feature -- defective ABS right out of the box. Hit a little bumb in the road when it is wet at low speed... and the brakes rumble and GO AWAY for a couple of seconds ... scary stuff.

The dealer and different service shops have said it is my imagination - blah blah blah. One guy last year that works for me got a surprise when following too close.

Can ABS be diabled? 'No ABS' would be much safer.

Sounds like a risk to me. Insurance co. may not want to pay up if you do such a thing and get caught.
I had a dodge truck that when it first started to come on it seemed like a long time to pulse but it would get quicker as you slowed.
Go to a empty parking lot and lay on them to see if they are messed up
Good luck
