Almost positive I don't have a tcs(transmission control switch ), yet I still have an (un illuminated) o/d off light on the dash? ?
Does the O/D off light on dash only apply to an auto or was it a factory option?

The clusters all have them, but they are not used in manual cars. I use mine as an idiot light for my temp gauge and oil pressure gauge upgrade circuits.
Haha sweet I like that idea. Figured they were only for autos but wasn't sure why they never replaced the useless o/d off for somthing more practical similar to what you have done. I guess it wasn't A smart thing for ford to do financially. On a side note I like how they incorporated the boost gauge in 03 where our battery guage is.

Where can you tap into the O/D bulb? I've thought about actually using it for my 4r70w.
You can tap into the OD OFF wire at the instrument cluster connectors. It's a White/Light Green wire. You can find the actual pin by looking at this page: http://www.accutach.com/Pages/94to98ClusterPinouts.aspx
