Want to run some 15" wheels with DR's in the rear. Right now I'm just cai, tune, AB's with 6r80 with 3.15 gears. I have control arms, relo brackets and panhard bar. I won't do too much more until I'm ready for a power adder.

Should I go 275/60's or 275/50's?

I have 275/60s with 3:15s and next time try 275/50s next time even if they look funny and don't fill the wheel wells well. I think they will be faster. I would by 275/50s if I were buying new.

I could be wrong but I think 275/60 is the perfect size for us coyote guys I too went with a 275/60 nitto 555r which suck with this Paxton but long lasting for sure have well over 10k miles on them and have plenty life left I daily my car even held up to the rain at a cautious speed of course..

I don't see much love for the 255/60r15s. That's personally what I'm going with on 15x8 racestars. No need to relo the sway bar (I know, not a big deal... but all those little things add up in time and $$), a bit less weight, and should be plenty of traction for a stock coyote with basic bolt ons. They still have a tall sidewall, but the overall diameter is 27" (vs 28.x" or 25.8" with the other 275/ options). Should also work well with my 3.31 gears and the factory front wheels that have a similar overall diameter.

I figure by the time I need more traction (ie power adder), I'll have worn through these tires several times over.

Just my .02

At your power level Nitto 555Rs, in either 275/50-15 or 275/60-15, will work just fine. My DD tires are 305/45-18 555Rs.

I use the continental extreme contact dws for daily driving and they work great.

I'll definitely be putting on m/T's for the track. I swore off 555R's a long time ago. Although I heard the new G2's are good for daily and track. But since these will be for track only on some track wheels, I'll be getting the best.

Only thing left on my "list" before nitrous is springs and shocks so I'll need the tires for that anyway. Goal is 6.90's in the 1/8th.

Why don't people run a wider tire than a 275 more often? I've seen some run 295

Most classes usually allow a max of 275's for a small tire or true street.

If guys can go mid to low 4's (1/8th) then I should be able to go 2 seconds slower with stock style suspension haha.

I have seen a couple tracks mix 295/55-15 and 275/60's in a 28" tall tire class. Reality is, if one can't hook on a 275/60, they wont hook on a 295 tire either.

Jegs says to use a 295/55r15 for a 10" wide drag wheel and 7.5-9.5" use a 275. When I buy I'm going with a 275 on a 10" wide though I think because the SVE drag wheels only have 41mm offset. I'm not sure you could run a 295 tire with that offset. Don't most people run a 15x10 with a 275/60r15 on these cars? I want to make sure it won't cause any mounting issues and I know it'll be flush with the wheel/no bulge

I'm not sure how the 295's look. Looks like most guys run 275's.

Heck the x275 guys run 275's on a 12" wheel.

295's are a an inch wider and a little heavier. Yes the 275 guys stretch the crap out of the 275's. That's why they need beadlocks.
