I have the opportunity to get a great deal on two brands/sizes. First the BFG 275/40/17 DR, the other is M and H DR in size 275/50/17. I know the BFG has proved itself, and probably can't go wrong there, but I can't help but think that the M and H (28 in tire) extra sidewall may allow for a quicker launch while lessening the shock to the drivetrain. My last consideration is that I will lose some gear by virtue of a two inch taller tire( M and H). I Make 494 RWHP... opinions?

Guys out here are running the BFG all day at the track with no complaints at all.
You can run the 50 but do you have room in the rear? Are your fenders rolled?

I've used the BFG DR's and they are great for street driving and occasional track duty.
I should have stated that these tires are for track only as they will be mounted on a spare set of rims.
Then get ET streets
