So I want to get a set of dedicated track wheels to help out with the weight, proper tire to help protect the IRS and not kill my street tires.

I have decieded I really dont care about grinding the tie rod end so I will be getting 15x10 rear SVE drag wheels.

What size rear bias ply tire are most running and what should I excpect in driving differences with this kind of tire rolling down the track?

I am looking at 15 inch or 17 inch SVE drag wheels for the front, which size is best to help the car launch? or is this choice purley just based on looks?

Just to confirm, even with a 15 inch wheel a "mickey thompson et street 2 radial" is not safe for the IRS because of the stiff sidewall, like all other drag radials???? or will a 15 inch ( larger sidewall ) radial offer some sidewall wrinkle like a bias ply slick?

If you run a 15x10 " rear
You will need to buy maximum motorsports braided brake lines
I prefer a 9" wheel. .won't need any brake line modifications
If u run 15" front wheels you will need to run spacers (thus causing wheels to stick out..which looks hookie..

Buy 17" front runners
Buy 15x9" rears
Use 26x10.5 or 26x11.5 mt bias ply tire
No radial tire or you will brake another half shaft

Thanks bud, really appreciate it. Any suggestions on cheap light 15x9 wheels other then the welds which are really expensive?
Its been a massive headache trying to find a dam wheel that is not too wide, too narrow, too heavy or too expensive. At this point I am over it, that IRS is getting grinded.
Are 15x8's an option or are those too narrow? I only ask because I believe the SVE wheels are offered in a 15x8
Thanks Jeff:rockon::beer:

check, thanks, Ill def roll the 17's up front. Jeff SVE does offer the 15x8 wheel for the rear.. is that a good option for me to go with, that way I dont have to run the brake lines as with a 15x10?

Get a stiff wall slick. Way more stable with our heavy cars. Better 60' too.

in a bias ply, they don't make a stiff wall.. he wants something he can drive to the track on, race & drive home...

If only 17" front tires weren't so damn expensive. Would make it easy using no spacers but having to spend more on some skinny ass front tires then you will on the big ole rears seems mismatched. THose wheels do look sick tho bad93.

I run a 28/10.5/15 stiff wall Hoosier. Its a bias ply tire designed for heavier cars. I drive my car to and from the track on them.

With a 15" wheel out back....you'll most likely end up having to "Grind" the end links on the IRS!!! That's why I went with a 16x10" wheel out back / 15x4" wheel up front .... Bogart's!

I run a 28x10x17 Bias Ply Hoosier on a stock 03/04 wheel. Im actually searching for 2 more wheels, to have Weldcraft narrow them to 4.5". I think it'll be pretty nice...

Good luck with your combo, I cant wait to see what you settle on and post pics!

Anyone want to post up how much the Bogarts are a piece?

Anyone know the weight difference between the Welds and Bogarts?

My welds are definitely heavier than a bogart...but then again. .mine are street legal..

Bogarts are recommended for drag race only
