Here is a typical airspace chart that you will need to understand to get your license. On this chart, you will need to decipher what class all of the colored lines represent, military patters, restricted, and what all of the numbers mean. Tower radio frequencies are listed, you have to know what each one is for and means. Dotted lines, staggered lines, faded areas, forbidden zones. You can fly near airports, you just have to be able to look at this, determine where you are and how high you can fly in that zone.
