 565hp at the rear! So, 600hp at the flywheel easy. Hopefully that was an accurate dyno test.

The only thing that bothers me about it is they didn't post a pic of the dyno sheet or screen.....that would make it positive.

I just find it hard that Ford would not put a higher rating then 500 on thier seller and buyer guides. But it's a super car and having a mid/rear mounted enigne will improve the amount getting to the wheels alot more.

I'm thinking the results were leaked from a private test, otherwise they would have documented the whole test.

One word "insurance". I believe car companies did this regularly in the muscle car era for insurance purposes.

hehe insurance i doubt would change much if any having a rating of 500 vs. 550. But just think of what it must be on that car...makes my head hurt.

Also look at the change of the Horsepower. :)
Original
Certified Horsepower 500@6000 rpm
Certified Torque 500 lb.-ft @ 4500 rpm

New
Horsepower @ RPM: 550@6,500
Torque @ RPM (lb ft): 500@3,750

50 More at 500 more rpms and the 500 torque at 750 rpm lower

Anybody catch that episode of 'American Muscle Car' wednesday night on Speedtv? At the end they show shots of the GT ripping around corners with smoke pouring off the tires. It was called, 'Decade of Dominance'.
