e ton viper 90R quad problem, anyone fool with these?

My gf's brother is having problems with his daughter's viper 90R quad. It is able to move forward in the neutral position but when you put it to the F for forward it dies and the same for reverse. I read about shifter motors but why would it work in neutral and not forward or reverse? If anyone has any help please post up as this little girl loves to ride this thing and it would be nice for her to have reverse, thanks!

Does it have any safety devices that could be shorting out when it goes in gear?

One thing I noticed is the parking brake has to be engaged to start it. If still engaged (even just a smidge) could that "kill" it when you go to gear? I know that was a problem on my 660 Raptor even though I released the PB, it was still engaged just enough to cause issues.

Thanks I'll check those out. It's funny that when its in the neutral position you can ride it like normal. It's like it's all bypassed somehow but nothing is out of place, first time in a long time something with a motor stumped me lol
