i know it's been asked 1000000 times but here it is again. I need to replace or rebuild my heads due to a very bad follower tapping noise. So my question is this, i found a good deal on a Eaton 03 04 cobra blower, since i have to replace my heads anyway should i pull the trigger and go ahead and get the eaton? I know i want more power, of course. Besides E heads and the radiator and fan and intercooler what all else would i need? Could i even run this Eaton on my stock bottom end with any sucess? I know this is a well worn question but something needs to be done to my motor regardless, it's my daily driver and not on the road so it's causing me problems. Let me know what you all think, i'm sure some of you have done this or are at least knowledgeable on the subject so please have mercy and give a newb some advice. Thanks all!

first off u would need c heads and there is a reason ford put forged parts into the 03/04 cobras, i wouldnt trust your stock bottom end with it

The nickel and dime pieces are what will kill you- coolant crossover tube, throttle cable, ect. Not many B head guys do this swap, because in the end it's cheaper to just buy a Centrifugal blower.

I'd rebuild your heads and go with a B head specific power adder, or you could do the C head swap- Chris with the black SN 95 has done the swap and might have more info for you.

yeah i was under the impression all the little parts were going to add up. . . . it porbably would end up being cheaper to buy a vortech kit. My only qualm with the vortechs is how freakin sick the twin screw blowers sound when people nail it. Such a nasty sound. Could anyone give me a ballpark number of what they think all the little parts might add up to, after all the eaton is only like $380 and that's a ****-ton cheaper than any vortech i've ever seen for sale. Maybe i'm wrong though, if so who has a vortech they want to get rid of for the same price ? :burnout:

i paid $2000 shipped for every pieve of the eaton swap i needed (timing cover, pulley bridge, crank and blower pullies, idler pullies, alt, alt brackets, alt pigtail, ic pump, heat exchanger, etc) minus some misc gaskets and stuff. that was before what i spent for the kenne bell. total cost is all going to depend on what the c heads cost you. if interested in eaton swap, pm 95sc
