I'm considering putting on an electric fan. I'd love to see an increase in mileage, even 1-1.5 mpg would be helpful, as I'm currently getting around 7.5 to 8mpg towing.

Question -has anyone here documented, carefully I might add, a real MPG improvement from installing electric fans? And, what is the best electric fan setup from these choices:

Lincoln brew your own

Are there others I should consider?

Thanks,

Ive been running the LFP e-fan kit for 3yrs/8k and i love it, but i dont tow with mine. Im not sure that a single fan would be up to the challenge when towing with a lightning, especially on a hot day.

If your dead set on a efan and you tow alot, i would look into the flex-a-lite with the dual fans. They cost a bit more but iirc they pull more air.

Anyone else? Did you see any sort of mileage increase?

Strange that I look on this forum and others for comparisons or tests with the efans and haven't come up with much of any solid data. But, there are lots of people that switch over to them.

My Lightning is a weekend toy so i dont keep track of how much gas it burns, but i know it burns alot of it:-D

I would guess that you could count on at least 1-2 per tank if you were babying it. I remember the first time I drove it after the install it felt like i picked up 25hp and the throttle response was so much better
