Emergency Brake problem (help pls)

Alright guys so I got home today and pulled up the emergency brake and the bolt that holds it to the body or whatever pulled straight through. I have no idea why it happened but don't even know where to start as far as fixing it goes. Didn't even yank it hard just pulled it up like always.

Remove the center console plastics and everything, and just weld it back to the steel wall. That's all I can think of. That should keep it from happening again.

Exactly that's all you really can do. Weld a plate in and drill and tap the holes that way it can be removed if ever need be.

Alright i'll try that this weekend, only time I have time to mess with it. The emergency brake definitely isn't working though.

Also, how dar from Asheville NC are you? I've never heard of southport nc before. I'm in Brevard, right outside of Asheville.
