End play?

Input shaft should be able to move in and out slightly correct? Mine does not move at all. And as far as I know tranny was never out before I took it out. What do you guys think is going on. Also guys at lethal told me i would not have to re shim or even check end play if changing to their steel bearing retainer, but one of the guys at tremec said of course I have to check it and it's quite possible it will have to be re shimmed? What have you guys done? Thanks

I just pulled mine apart and it didnt feel like had any slack to ,but I installed a 26 spline shaft so I reshimmed mine and had a tiny bit more slack than stock from feeling it but I shimmed it at .001 . Everything I have read so far says u should NOT have to reshim with just sleeve . It makes sense to me that u shouldn't have to because the shim does not touch or affect the sleeve .

End play spec is .000 to .002 so no end play is within specs.
