i Just purchased an 01 cobra 4v and im stripping it down to re build it. It only had 32k km's but has been sitting for ~5yrs and i want to make it fully forged.

my question is

Im planning on having the heads gone through, new seats, stiffer springs iff needed, but what i want to know if do i need to use the cam holding tool to keep everything in place or can i just pull it apart seeing as how the heads will get stripped, and possibly ported

Just pull it apart. You'll need to time the cams when you install them anyway.

Pop the rockers off before you remove the chains.
