Just purchased an '02 and found out that it is burning oil (potentially the piston rings sadly...). With that the engine will need to be rebuilt. I'm looking on the bright side and so I decided to beef up the motor a little bit. I'm not looking for anything crazy. My plan is to get a 6lb lower (already installed), ported blower (it might already be ported) and a 2.76 upper, injectors, fuel pump, etc.

There's no rush on getting the motor rebuilt so I can take my time on parts but this is my first lightning and would like to get some advice.

I would like to get to around 500hp (if possible) on the stock blower.

Hey man awesome truck. True blue? Looks exactly like my truck. I'm in the same boat, trying to reach 500 hp. Sounds like you are off to a good start with the parts you listed. I have an 8# lower, stock upper pulley, makes about 14.5 lbs, the rest is belt slip. Porting the blower should get you 430-440 range potentially. It'll definitely improve efficiency. Do you know where you're at now power-wise?
