exhaust weld question

im in the process of putting my new goodies on my car, but my question is- my lethal performance x pipe is aluminized, i need to weld a bung in for my wide band.

does it require a specific welder like a tig, or can we just use and aluminum spool gun with a mig or what?

makes me feel pretty stupid, but it is confusing because it is ALUMINized.

anyone know anything about this?

Aluminizing is simply a coating over steal. So you need to use er70s wire with some where around 75/25 argon/co2 gas on a mig. Make sure you grind the coating off first, or else it will cause porosity in your weld and im pretty sure the fumes are dangerous (but hey, your welding, all the fumes are dangerous lol)

You can still mig weld it when I did mine I used a reamer punched a whole into it then mig welded it and done took me about 30 mins if that
