Fitness Gurus, Got A Weight Loss Question......

A few months ago, I severly strained my ACL and MCL playing in a softball league. I was unable to do cardio or workouts that involved my knee for quite some time. As a result (along with my not so good eating habits), I picked up a few unwanted pounds. I was just cleared by my doctor to resume physical activity with my knee, so I'm gonna start jogging.

Here's my question.....

What weight loss supplements do you guys use? I hear Hydroxycut is popular, but what do you guys think? Also, my stomach can be sensitive at times... maybe something that won't completely mess my stomach up...

Help me out here! Thanks

jog and eat healthy. all those weight loss suppliments are filled with caffine or caffine subsitute and i personally don't think they are very healthy. work off the lbs naturally, even though it will take longer since you can jog now. thats just my opinion though.

Thats the thing, I don't eat a lot. Sometimes the quality of the food I eat is not good though. I've cut fast food out of my diet completely, that was the first step.

Eating more (and by eating more i mean eating more healthy foods) will help you lose weight if you do it right. Its not good to eat only 2 meals a day, it slows your metabolism.

Eat about 6-8 small meals a day. It will keep your metabolism moving fast, and your body will not try to store fat this way.

Hydroxicut will get the job done if you know what you're doing. For a "generic" weight loss pill that is found everywhere this thing seems to be praised by quite a few people I talk to.

This is the easiest one, there are many better ones but unknown and not as easy to find everywhere.

no it's not but don't replace water with it

to help lose some weight drinks lots and lots of water

as much as you can (obviously you will be going to the can a lot) but at least a few liters/day. and it's just very healthy as well..

Use X12 and Thermo Burst from GNC. It works like a charm although I recommend starting with X12 alone. When I combined the two I got stomach pains that made me want to go to the ER and remove my stomach. I guess its something you have to get used to. I dont know much about Hydroxy cut but someone I know says it doesnt work but who knows give it a try

Some people will say "yes" and some will say "no". You will hear of some pro bodybuilders drinking diet soda while they are dieting down to their contest weight. Each person is different. For me, I just drank water. It takes some time to get used to but I would get some Crystal Light from time to time just to change things up a bit.

I swear though, there is nothing like an ice cold Pepsi in a can. That is my one vice.

It is not bad, but like stated above do not replace it for water! I drink 1 or 2 diet sodas a week, I have this thing that I can eat out on Sunday what ever I want, occasionally on Saturdays too but I do not over due it. Otherwise I drink only water.

When I was on my loose "FAT" only diet I would take in about 1000 Cal(no supplements) a day with good protein. Now I am on a Protein/50-100carbs a day diet taking in about a lil over 1700 Cal a day with over 280G of protein including supplements for size and strength. I am hitting the weights now though. :-D

I am really proud of myself though, I am converting my body 360 *, Coming from a morbidly obese guy at 345 at 5'11" and now 265 with fat but good size. It is hard but I will get there.

FIRST OFF.. never go to GNC..they overcharge, and are generally quite stupid when it comes to supplements. http://www.bodybuilding.com/ this is the only place you'll really need to go.. they ship same day, and it generally only takes two days to get to you.. find better prices? let me know, because i can't..

stop drinking pop.. diet is alright on occasion. watch your carb intake.
if you want weight loss supplements, i've seen good results from hydroxicut, just be careful with it. lipo 6 works pretty good. the website will have more than enough information on fat loss supplements as well as a well known forum for help.

Yes. Soda whether diet or not will leave you dehydrated. Stick to water and plenty of it, at least a gallon a day. Even mild dehydration will slow your metabolism by 5%. As for the OP, I would cut back on the jogging if possible. Jogging/running is killer on joints and you've already had one terrible injury. There are other forms of cardio that won't be as stressfull on your joints such as the elliptical, rowing machine, stepper, etc. Or if you are just set on running at least do it on the treadmill since it will absorb some of the impact. Also try to incorporate a weightlifting program into your workouts, working your muscles will not only help you build muscle but aid in speeding up your metabolism along with burning more fat and calories.

I forgot about one of your original questions about Hydroxycut. It actually is a very good product that works, but with you having taken some time off and changing your diet to be healthier I would hold off on it for right now. Your body will make plenty of changes over the next couple months just from the exercise and diet, I would wait until you hit a bit of a road block before you waste any money on supplements.

IMO get yourself a speed rope. Its much better for your cardio and you will burn an insane amount of calories. I will take a high-intensity jump rope workout over jogging anyday. Im not saying running isnt good for you, jump rope just gets more done faster. In my case I was lazy and had terrible eating habits. I got up to 218lbs (Im 6'3"). Cut out the soda completly, no fast food unless its Subway and I do mma training. Now Im a ripped 190lbs. BTW it took 2 and a half months.

Good info guys. I got started on some weight training today. Definitely feel a lil bit better and my energy is def higher than it was a week ago. Went for a jog and it wasn't that bad until my leg got tired. Then my knee started feeling vulnerable.

I think I'm gonna take your guys' advice on alternate forms of cardio... Other than jump rope and the treadmill... what gives you guys the best results???

yea hydroxy cut is just a boost of energy....mostly from all the caffeine in it. you get wired and workout like a madman....lol

i would do light weight training too. you can't just use the treadmills all the time. you can do the elipticals too. and the stair machine good luck with everything :)
