i had a noise coming from the blower nothing to extreme but cause for concern
so i sent it to whipple so they can take a look at it
one rear bearing spun in the case
told by whipple that everything was good but the rear bearings & gen 1 case

Just a heads up fellas, not trying to bash but I am going to point a few things out.

1) Invoice does not state what is wrong with the blower
2) When I asked him last night if it was this blower (http://www.svtperformance.com/forum...-S-2-3L-whipple-gen-2-supercharger&highlight=) he said he wasn't sure, but knew he had listed the blower before. (he states this one needs a new case)

I am sure he is a stand up guy but its just something I would want cleared up personally before I bought a $750 paperweight...

Through PMs I spoke with the guy and while Whipple may only want $975.00 to rebuild it does also need a case. I was thinking I'd be able to do a total rebuild done and be off wirh it but now that it needs a case. I asked Boosted4v to update the post but have to take off and be away from the site for the day. He may also not be around a computer either bit I wanted to give up the info I found out. And Whipple may only want 975 including the case but I havent had heard back from whipple

i think I would find a way to get it rebuilt, people aren't going to give you very much for a pile of whipple parts. Sorry about the bad luck on it.

You might get a quote from Jon Bond Performance. From my experience they are considerably cheaper than whipple.

Jon Bond is cheaper than whipple for rebuilding. Plus, he will make you an offer on it for parts.

I sent mine to him awhile back, and it needed more money in work than it was worth used, because the front gears were trashed and they are expensive. He made me an offer on all the remaining parts, and it was very fair.
