I don't believe so. Ford/GM are working on a new auto together, but that's not a total outsource.
Even if Ford were to stick an existing T56 into the new L, it would require recertification testing which again, isn't cheap.

Tranny is less expensive than a new motor. Whatever powers the next gen L is going to have 500lb/ft+ of TQ simply because it has to.
