A buddy of mine probably has a spun rod bearing in his '97 4V. The car's basically stock and he probably won't be modding it beyond basic bolt-ons, so I'm figuring a stock rebuild should suit his needs well.

Seeing as how a rebuilt 4V shortblock can be had for less than $2K with a warranty, I'm looking for feedback from anyone that has had an engine replaced with a Ford rebuild.

I'm a Ford/Lincoln parts guy.

I have sold a bunch of them. Since they were switched over to the much more tightly controled remans and not the old rebuilds(which was quite a while ago), I have never seen even one claim during the rather generous warranty period.

The are solid as hell. All the 4Vs that I have sold were Navi though, because I was at a Lincoln/Mercury dealer. I would do it, they are a great value.
