Game Details
* Set in Colorado(map is a condensed version of the state).
* Features a dynamic day to night cycle.
* Day and Night Cycle is around 40 minutes long.
* Uses the Forza 4 class system, no E-F class cars.
* There are 216 roads in the game that combine to around 280 miles.
* 65 different surface types, no wet or frozen surfaces.
* Game uses a GPS system with Kinect control and utilizes the racing line from Forza Motorsport.
* Imported Forza M 4 and Forza M 3 saved games will give a car bonus.
* The game will feature a Season Pass that includes 6 car packs and a expansion.
* Rally Expansion pack includes 7 Rally tracks with three stages each.
Visual, Sound & Physics
* Uses the Forza 4 Graphical and Physics Engine.
* Physics engine has been tweaked a minor amount to allow easier maneuvering.
* Physics engine runs at 360 fps(same as Forza 4).
* Horizon uses the same assist system as Motorsport and allows you to activate simulation handling and turn off assists for a more raw and real experience.
* Runs at 30 fps.
* Car models are revamped from Forza 4 including total dashboard illumination in interior view and pop-up headlights.
* Interior view is still in the game from Forza 4.
* 20 km draw distance, most of the map is blocked off but there are open areas.
* Active Aero works on all cars that have it.
Singleplayer
* Entire campaign is centered around the Festival where races and events are setup and driven, there are also races setup elsewhere in the world.
* Cars can be purchased using in-game credits and tokens.
* Traffic is a combination of civilian traffic and other Festival racers.
* Unicorn cars are now cars that can be found in barns on the map.
* You start in 250th place and must work your way up to 1st in the Festival.
Multiplayer
* All single-player game-modes are available online.
* Every single player race also has a rivals mode version.
* Rivals mode from Forza 4 is included and will be updated every month.
* The map is covered in challenges like speed traps and speed zones and everytime you complete one of these your time is uploaded to a leaderboard providing a constant and dynamic competition between you and your friends even when you're free roaming in singleplayer.
* Multiplayer modes include some of the community made popular modes in Forza 4 such as cat & mouse but straight race modes are still included.
* Max 8 player online, free roam is done with lobbies and there is no traffic in online free roam.
Customization
* Includes painting and upgrading vehicles.
* Uses a livery system based on the Forza 4 system.
* Carries over and adds new Rims from Forza 4.
* Carries over bodykits available on the same cars as Forza 4.
