From V6’s to GT500

While it’s not official yet. I have signed papers and hopefully tomorrow I will be a GT500 owner. As a kid/teen my dream car was the 96 Mystic and then the 03 Cobra. After owing 2 sn-95 V6’s in the late 90's/early 00's, I was able to buy my first V8 - a 04 GT with a Saleen body kit in 2006.

Two years later my finances allowed me to buy my 2003 10th anniversary Cobra. Along the years I have helped my kids buy 5.0’s and my wife a 2021 Mach 1. I love the S500 platform (my personal favorite) and when the 2020 Shelby’s came out I felt like a kid back in day. I made it my mission to buy one and 3 years later the dream is being fulfilled.

Wow, man, congratulations! It was a longish wait, but you were patient (and helped your wife buy a '21 Mach 1) and now you're a baby step away from your dream. I love the red paint on that beauty. Enjoy!!

I’ve had the car for three days and I'm speechless!! The cobra I have pushes over 730 at the tires but this Shelby is just a different beast. As of now the only mod I’m planning is a JLT and I’d like to get me a set of the Shelby GT500 carbon fiber wheels or the gloss black replicas from LMR. Maybe down the road I’ll add a few more hp mods.
