2014 Auto GT with 3.15 Gears. Has a VMP with an 82mm pulley. I need some help with a drag wheel setup.

I'm looking at the drag stars with a 15x10 rear with 275-60-15 ET Streets. That's the easy part. What front tire on a 17x4.5 wheel? 26" or 28"? Need help on that choice.

Thanks

I went with the Phoenix front drag tires PH427 which are 27" and only weigh 11 pounds. You can get them through Summit Racing on ebay for $139 each

I have 28 inch MT's up front now. Had 26 inch M&H's but front end was too low and I couldn't see shit at night due to the rake.

Ran the M&H 26" up front, but they were too low. It sat nice, but too low for daily driving. Switched to M/T 28", now sits like stock. (Both radial)

I run 15s up front but couldn't manage the 26" up front as the front just sat way too low.

I run a 27" Hoosier bias ply now that allows me to get up my trailer without issue.

26" M/T's on mine. Just prefer the look over the 28's. Do wish a 27" was available in a radial, that would be perfect!

I absolutely love the look with 28" in the rear and 26" up front. Not a trailer car, track is 10 minutes from my house.

Only concern would be night visibility and/or the way it would drive on the street. I do take 100+ mile trips with it to go play sometines.

I ordered the new grey racestar setup. 275 60 15 ET Pro for the rear and wussed out and ordered 28" MT's for the front.

I run the 28" MT up front and they have been great- 2500 miles last summer on shit mi roads- didn't hardly wear at all. the 28's have a LT rating and I believe can handle up to 50 psi- the 26" are standard 35 psi- so you have more of a chance of peeling one of the rim in my opinion- obviously going faster around a corner than you were suppose to. the extra beef of the 11 and up mustang will squat the 26" skinnies- My rear is dropped about 1.25"
and front is stock- the MT 28" front measure about 28.3 mounted. sits nice a level- I have taking quite a few corners a lot faster than I should of with no issues.

Any pics of your car with this tire? I'd like to get this tire... I don't like the look of 28" fronts at 50psi being taller then 28" rears at 17psi. I run 26" and actually like the look, but it was a bitch when I rented a uhaul trailer to make a road trip with the car.

OP I'm sure you'll be fine with your purchase...

If you ever want to cut killer lights (and go for wins) your front tire roll out becomes *very* important. Ideally, you want to stare at the 3rd yellow and pound the loud pedal the second it comes on. Most guys cut killer lights with a 26" tire - a 28 is too big - generally. I use a 25.6 tire cause that's where I get .00's and teen lights. You then can play with air pressure to really nail it.

Sometimes its fun to just go fast, other times its fun to win :)
