Installing my Whipple 2.3 kit this weekend and will no longer need this CAI. It does have a few small holes in the heat shield from where I mounted a window switch and NMU when I had a nitrous kit installed. The holes are pretty small and I wouldnt think it really has aneagtive effect on the performance of the intake itself. One could always put a few small christmas tree style plugs in the holes if they were really worried about. I have used the intake for the past month and noticed ZERO change in performance.
