FOR SALE: Gen 5 2.3L Whipple Supercharger

I am selling my 2.3l Whipple. Approximately 14k miles on the blower. I'm upgrading to a 2.9l so this one has to go. It made 740rwhp on my set up @ 19lbs. Pulley comes with it. Asking $2500. I'm not sure what shipping will cost but buyer either picks it up or pays for the shipping. I will ship it in the box the 2.9 came in.

Thought the only Gen5 was the 3.0.

From what I understand is all the new gen whipples have the sight glass in the front for the oil. I stated gen5 but it could be gen2,3,4... in this size lol. I can't keep up with all the generations of them either. The 2.9 that I'm going to is also said to be gen5? Either way, deposit has been paid on the unit and sale is pending delivery so it's considered SOLD.

Gen 2 was when the sight glass started.

Only Gen5 is the 3.0l.

I think you can get the 2.3 in a Gen3

You can send the older Whipple’s in for a rotor upgrade to Gen3

Gen3 and 4 2.9s have the swept or angled ribs on the case instead of perpendicular

Either way still a great blower

I always thought the 2.3 were only gen 1 and 2. I did a little digging on the serial number, the W3A typically denotes a gen1 case. W140 is more commonly gen 2. I also found that gen1 rotor packs were a green color and the snout shaft was an off purple. On the gen2 supposedly the rotors are black and the snout shaft is also black.

I believe this might be a gen1 case that was updated to gen 2 internals by whipple at some time. Thats just what I've found, if someone else knows better Im always up to learn more stuff.

Thanks for all the great info guys!! That's exactly why I made sure to get a pic of the serial #! That way anyone who was interested could do their own research and make sure it was what they wanted. This has been an outstanding bllower for me and I wouldn't even be changing it if I hadn't run across a deal on the 2.9!!
