Most of yall know the car. Going to start a build/progress thread hopefully to help me get more motivated. The build is a GT500 3.6LC being adapted to the 03-04 Cobra. This was the last build on the car here 2.8LC Behemoth inlet 770rwhp/709rwtq. Car ran great but did not have the power I wanted:

So I pulled the 2.8LC

and bought a 3.6LC to replace it. Here are some pics for comparison:

The aftermarket rails will not work without counterboring the plate and using different bolts:

Looking good! I'll have to look at my dyad clutch sheet, I think my average torque rating was in the 1200's.

Looks good! That blower looks huge. Curious to see how the whole hood fitment works out. Anyway great build.

We have Kmember spacers and still won't fit. So will go with small Cobra R hood.

Good luck.

Did you think about the 3.2

Was not even looking to upgrade until a guy contacted me about the 3.6LC. Figured decently rare on the 03 cobra and at ~30psi and e85 would be a nice little build. Will be spinning the blower 4000 rpms slower than my old build so should be good suff.

Damn nice build. What are you shooting for 1000 rwhp?

770 rwhp wasn't enough? How much more are you looking to make?

Not shooting for a hp goal. In my last build along with my 2.2L and normal 2.8L I made mistakes and did not make the optimum power. I am trying to eliminate all my known mistakes.

After this build and I get through having a new born I will go to Fox Lake Ported GT heads and Kurgan Motorsports custom cams on this car.

damn. I want to build something new. no idea what I want to do though. Ford GT heads sounds like a killer setup. I have to look up the flow rate on them again. I was pricing out some motor combo;s and I literally had no idea how much it costs to build a block that can handle 1000rwhp.

GT heads on a 4.6 required modified intakes or an FR-500C intake. They flow stock what ported 03 heads flow and they are able to take higher lift on the cams. Plus they don't have the guide issues that 03's have. A block to handle 1k+rwhp needs a lot of little bullcrap it adds up quick. If you want a shop to build it expect to drop 6-10k depending on how crazy you go for the shortblock alone.

Also header primaries need to be changed as the exhaust ports are different. The stock manifold can be "easily" modded to fit the heads. Gasket match and then shave the sides. The flow rates are near the same but the two I know of with GT heads made way more power with their setups compared to equal ported 03 Cobra heads.
