Going 18" need your opinion on tire size

Going 18" and need to know what will work and look right on my car.. 9 in the front and 10 on the rear.. Tire and rim guy said 255/40 and 285/40 :??:

I'm glad you asked this question.. I have a set of 18x9 and 18x10 coming this week and am in the process of thinking about this.

I'm going with a 305/35/18 Nitto 555 RII in the back for sure. I was running 275/35/18 in the front with my old setup (on 18x9's), but people are telling me to go with 265/35/18. While people are answering your post, I think we'd both benefit from knowing why people prefer the 265 vs. the 275 on a 18x9" rim.

With all that being said, I wouldn't to a 40 series tire on the 18s. It will NOT look good.

I have run a 265/35/18 on an 18x9.5 CCW wheel and liked the fitment and looks of it. A 275 would look just as good in my opinion. On an 18" wheel I wouldnt go any larger than a 35 sidewall just wont look right.

Now on the rear, I'm a huge fan of big fat tires. I liked the way the BFG 315/30/18's look. Also Hoosier makes the 335 drag radial in 18" now. Depends what kind of tire you need. I wouldnt recommend the Hoosier for a DD, the BFGs did good in the rain for me.

look on DTD that's where I bought mine. I think mine were 35 series
